Trelldom
There's no need of much talk much about Trelldom's frontman Gaahl is the undisputed king of Black Metal. For us, together with Sir and Kenneth Kapstad, he revives the band for a live performance for the first time (!) since the late 90s!
 
Incantation
The East Coasters Incantation are easily among the top 3 of the New York Death Metal League. For over 30 years, John McEntee has gathered an illustrious group of musicians around him, which means that one can almost speak of a cult as “just a band”.
 
Endstille
Endstille are no strangers and this year they once again cemented their status as THE German Extreme Metal band with their first album in 10 years called DetoNation and some bloodcurdling gigs.

Jungle Rot
Jungle Rot, who have consistently earned their status, especially in the underground, are making the long journey from Wisconsin. In 24 they bring their barbaric slaughter festival back to the Holy Ground.
 
Uada
Weird forest people or perhaps the cosmic enlightenment that Black Metal has been waiting for? Both are probably correct. Immediately after their founding, Uada were chosen to be the dark darlings of the scene and underline this with their infamous spooky live shows.

 Messiah
Death thrash from the land of mountains and delicious chocolate? No problem say Swiss Messiah. They got back together again in 2020 after a measly 26 years and are doing what they do best again: blasting people's minds musically.

Skeletal Remains
Skeletal Remains diligently carpenters and, above all, jackhammers their international fan base - successfully, because the not so delicate death metal plant of the foursome from California grows and thrives in the old school style a la Death and Pestilence. As the icing on the cake, SR added a pretty iconic artwork overall concept

First and foremost is warlock Dani Filth, who is visiting us with his eerily chic demon-gang Cradle Of Filth. For 30 years, they have been wheezing, shrieking, crowing on stages and constantly smudging the boundaries between Black, Symphonic and Death Metal with black corpse paint.

In darkness we trust, right? And that's why we can't avoid finally inviting the German Death Metallers Necrotted. Despite 15 years of band history, they're still as fresh as a jackhammer straight to the brain and are eager on doing exactly that at W:O:A 24.

The best way to endure so much darkness? With beer. Clearly. Best already for breakfast. And even better together with legends Tankard, who will serve a special morning pint to serenade you into a Wacken day full of adventures.

Also boarding the ship: More upbeat vibes with Paddy & The Rats - Hungarian Celts or Celtic-style Hungarians with their high-speed folk punk.

And finally a dream comes true! It's hard to believe but fate has so far not wanted the exceptional Suzi Quatro to honor us with her presence. But now the time has come, and the American legend known for tight leather and tight songs will show everyone with her 73 years once again how it is REALLY done! We can and surely will give you all our love, Suzi! "

The Holy Ground turns black with the Dark Metal quintet NACHTBLUT and Melodic Death band ASENBLUT. VAN CANTO are going to pave the epic road for our headliners of the heart: SKYLINE!

Since 2012 Holland’s Gothic Metal combo BLACKBRIAR are out there and they have released three EPs and their highly anticipated debut album with Joost van den Broek. After that they were signed by the legendary Metal label Nuclear Blast and the sophomore album „A Dark Euphony“ saw the light of day. Dark. Melancholic. Catchy. It’s time to see the female-fronted-sensation in Wacken!

Ready for some brutal Old School Death Metal? EMBRYONIC AUTOPSY is the answer. With their debut album „Prophecies Of The Conjoined“ the riff-smithery had no other ambition than bringing back the pure 90s Death Metal sound. And they did it! Prepare your mane, you will need it!

They combine brutal riffs and breakdowns, catchy vocal lines and the Nu Metal sound of the 90s. HALF ME, the high flyers from Hamburg, have just released their debut album „Soma“ and with their strong will they are on the best way to play themselves to the front of the scene. Be enchanted by the Norwegian Gothic Metal Queen LIV KRISTINE! She transformed our Holy Ground into a cave of longing back in 1996 as the dark goddess of Theater Of Tragedy. Together with her Viking ship and folk-metal band Leave Eyes, we went into battle with her at W:O:A 2008 and 2012! Liv Kristine's balladic vocal power can be found on her sixth solo album "River Of Diamonds" and finally at Wacken again in 2024!

The big finale is coming - MR. BIG are going on a farewell tour after 36 years of band history! As four young hard rock guys from LA, they started making music together in 1988 and quickly conquered the charts and radio stations of the world with mega hits like "To Be With You" and "Wild World" - until today! In over 30 years, a lot of stories have come together that we can't even list here: as at W:O:A 2018, we - and Mr. Big - can hardly keep our feet still to headbang live to the Best Of songs one last time.

Dutch modern tech metal pioneers TEXTURES are back after 6 years! Their break-up in 2018 left a big hole in the global progressive metal community. But "the dead live longer": with a new album, they will reclaim their position as a must-see festival band at W:O:A 2024!

In 2023, Australians THE AMITY AFFLICTION went straight to number 56 in the German charts with their latest LP 'Not Without My Ghosts'! The emotional lyrics of singer Joel Birch - about suicide, gun violence, religion and mental illness - paired with the heavy, hard sound of the post-hardcore band show The Amity Affliction at their brutal best. We won't miss the joint battle with inner demons in the pit in 2024! "

BEHEMOTH, the devil's brigade of Extreme Black Metal, and chief magician Nergal will also ride in to unleash their hellish symphonies.

Dark support to transform the Holy into the Unholy Ground comes from two hordes of Northern European vampires: both Alt-Maestros THE 69 EYES and Junior-Bloodsuckers MISTER MISERY are flying to Wacken with sharp teeths hungry for your energy.

For those finding all this too spooky and eccentric, here come living traditionalist legends: RAVEN uphold the banner of NWOBHM and are considered pioneers of Speed Metal. From the metal heartland of Germany, PRIMAL FEAR will present a masterclass in pure, unbridled Heavy Metal.

To break down genre boundaries, we bring you THE BABOON SHOW from Sweden – our favorite circus, but with fewer elephants and more Punk Rock! We give the monkey some sugar and look forward to their crazy show – which would hardly be topable if it weren't for THE DARKNESS! The absolute representatives when it comes to campy Glam Rock, cheeky lyrics, and probably the hottest stage outfits of W:O:A 2024. Sorry, and we can't help it if you now have 'I believe in a thing called Love' stuck in your head for the rest of the day. "

Also on board to shake the marrow out of your bones are Prog-Sludgers Baroness, while Massive Wagons Groove Rock will be hitting you right in the hips. Robse, formerly of Equilibrium, is doing his own thing now, and he's doing it very, very well, just like Gene.

Whitechapel are stepping up to blast merciless Death Metal into your brain, Persefone can keep up with their Prog prowess. Staying in Greece, we visit the Planet of Zeus, where Heavy Stoner Rock shakes the Akropolis. And just to remind us all that we came here to have capital FUN: he's finally back – Hairmodel, Human Cheshire Cat and German Heavy Metal Comedy God Bülent Ceylan. "
