Vai liittyiskö enemmän Leopold von Sacher-Masochin samannimiseen pienoisromaaniin, josta on tehty jos jonkinnäköistä elokuvaa ja johon TVU:n biisinkin sanat pohjaavat. Eipä siinä, enemmän saattais jopa toivoa että olisikin EW-renditio biisistä, sen verran loistava alkuperäiskappale kyseessä.

Viimeksi taisin jotain nillittää heti kun Witchcult Today ilmestyi, mutta levyhän räjähti sitten het lisäkuunteluiden myötä toisiin avaruuksiin. Ihan hyväkin oli saada sellainen alkureaktio, että "eihän tämä kuulostakaan vakuuttavalta", ikään kuin piikki persuuksiin ja into syventyä levyyn kunnolla. Sen sijaan esimerkiksi We Live on minusta edelleen hyvä levy, mutta se iski alussa kovemmin mutta on ehkä pikkaisen sen jälkeen eltaantunut.

Josta tulikin mieleen, että kuinkahan tuon levyn ensimmäinen painos pakataan. Se Witchcult Todayn pahvikotelo on kaikista surkein cd-pakkaus, mikä omiin käsiin on koskaan päätynyt. Sisältö pelastaa ja sitä suuremmalla syyllä levy ansaitsisi tutun, turvallinen ja konstailemattoman jewel casen ympärilleen.

Se Witchcult Todayn pahvikotelo on kaikista surkein cd-pakkaus, mikä omiin käsiin on koskaan päätynyt.

Niinpä. Eikä tietenkään mahdu normaaliin cd-hyllyyn. Siispä joutui polttamaan "käyttöversion" tyhjälle cd:lle ettei tarvitse ränklätä levyä sinne pahvitaskuun ja takaisin.

Tosiaan, ihan pannukakku oli tuo Witchcultin limitedi vinyylireplican paska noin niin kuin formaattina. Onneksi levy toimii täysillä.

Noniin! Itelle Witchcult Today oli pettymys paikoin huonolta kuulostaneen Jusin, lempeiden soundien ja muutaman heikomman biisin takia. Kovat on silti odotukset! Mulle toimii parhaiten Dopethrone ja loistava We Live!

Witchcult Today on kestänyt hyvin kuuntelua vahvan biisimateriaalin kautta, vaikka tuo täysanalogisuus ja lo-fi tuotanto ulostivat omaan makuun vähän liiankin tuhnuisen äänimaailman. Uusi levy menee toki siis hankintaan.

Hienoa kuulla että Ornen seuraava levy on valmis, edellistä on tullut tuossa tasaisin väliajoin pyöritettyä soittimessa. Tuo splitti olikin mennyt kokonaan ohitse.

...ja tuo uusi EW on myös täällä kovassa odotuksessa. Witchcult Today oli IMO parasta EW:tä sitten Dopethronen, biisien puolesta ja allekirjoittanut piti myös tuosta tunkkaisesta soundimaailmasta ihan pirusti.
